Here is an example of a recipe for Apple Crumble
A classic finish to a Sunday roast dinner.

Ingredients:

  • 4 - Apples -
  • - Golden Delicious
  • Melted butter
  • - Enough to grease the baking dish
  • 115 Grams - Plain flour
  • 1.5 Teaspoons - Cinnamon
  • 180 Grams - Butter - Chilled and cubed
  • 140 Grams - Brown sugar
  • 35 Grams - Rolled oats
  • 2 Tablespoons - Lemon juice
  • 1.5 Tablespoons - Caster sugar
  • 250 Mls - Double cream
  • - To serve

Method:

  • Preheat the oven to 190 C.
  • Brush a 6cm deep, 1.25 litre ovenproof dish with the melted butter.
  • Combine the flour and 1 teaspoon of the cinnamon in a large bowl.
  • Add the butter and rub it into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
  • Stir in the brown sugar and oats.
  • Quarter and core the apples. Slice the quarters into 1.5cm wide wedges.
  • Place the apple wedges in the baking dish, add the lemon juice and mix until the apples are coated.
  • Combine the caster sugar and remaining cinnamon and sprinkle over the apples. Toss well to combine.
  • Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the top to completely cover the apples.
  • Place the dish on a baking tray and bake for 35 minutes or until the crumble topping is golden brown.
  • Serve warm with the cream.
